I did it!!!!!!!
I learned a lot from this program and maybe we should have classes for some of these web-sites! A couple of them are not so interesting for me, but you never know, maybe one day I will go back and explore them some more! I think that the Library should have an information sheet available with the different web-sites to let patrons know where they can find some of the information they are looking for; for example what we learned in Week # 4.
The only concern I have with all these web-sites - and I see it on my kids who sit too long on the computer, talking with friends on AIM, having face-book and much more - they are losing the human touch and the interaction with others. On the other hand for home bound people it is a great way to stay in touch with the outer world!

Unfortunately the book I was looking for I didn't find in "Project Gutenburg" - maybe good so because now my son had to read the book! Also I looked for books in the German language - no luck either!
I'm trying to log on NetLibrary - but it really takes a long time on my "old" computer! This maybe a problem for people to go on to!

I already use i-tunes for my i-pod - you can buy music or some music is free! My kids even enjoy TV-shows or Movies - some we need to pay and some are free! I definitely will check out more "podcast.net"

I found out that I could work a lot with "Google" - you can find a lot of information and you can work with it; like write a document or make a spreadsheet! I think that the Library could get a use out of "Google" because Patron ask questions about directions to a location and we can find that on google.

Wow, you don't need to have your documents anymore stored in your hard drive and you can access it from every computer. This way - if your laptop gets stolen - your information is not available to the thief!

I think that a Librarian is not anymore someone who knows only about books and where to research in encyclopedia - NO they have to have computer knowledge at what web-site they could find the right answer and information. In Library 2.0 Librarian can help each other with blogs - what a great feature to help patrons

Facebook and my-space is what mostly my kids use and I found out - through a business-paper - that even companies start looking at this web-site for potential future employees. So it is very important to stay on top of the new technologies.

I discovered Del.icio.us and found out that this can be a very important tool for the Librarian - but unfortunately I'm not a Librarian. It was very interesting and made an account for the future - for myself.

Rollyo is much to dangerous for me and my husband would not like it, because I chose the shopping! It was great to find some good deals and it would mean that I need to work much more than I already do. So my husband told me not. Well, now I went back and I can't figure out how to link the site - but I played around a lot!

Explored "Merlin" and subscript to it for my Bloglines! Went to "feedster" to look for German Newpaper - still very behind us - they want me to subscripe to the newspaper ------I'm still examine other options

I did thing 8 - set up a account at bloglines and have subscript to 10 newsletters - yeah! Still looking if I can find some German newspapers who will give me the current news from Germany!

Well, I had to go back again and learn about the 7 1/2 learning things

I really love to play around with new toys - like my I-pod or with flickr. The hardest thing is for me to stay focused on finishing the 23 things - because life is just to busy for me!

I found youtube.com and how much fun I had! I found old movies from Germany and german pop-stars I didn't see in years. Spent good 2 hours on surfing. Had a lot of fun and will look for more German stuff!

Well, here is a picture from "Flickr" It was taken at our quarterly Branch meeting - the theme was "Breakfast at Tiffany" - and the Circ. Department was responsible for this event. They all did a nice job!

I checked out "Flickr" and I think it is a great feature! It is sooo much easier to store the pictures and give my relatives in Germany the web-site. When I sent pictures per e-mail it took forever and now it is just a click away. I'm not sure if I will store all the pictures on this web-site - I need to do a little bit more resource on different web-sites which maybe is available in Germany. Can anyone help me with this web-site hunt?????

I can't believe I'm doing this - it's more work for me than I thought. I'm glad Margy is sitting next to me and helps me follow through. My gosh!!!!!!!!
